Shiatsu Massage Therapy Training

Shiatsu massage therapists can make a huge difference in the lives of their clients, especially those that are suffering from debilitating pains or muscle injuries.  In order to have a career in the field of massage therapy, you must obtain the proper training.  Then the possibilities are endless for the types of settings in which you can work helping people every day.

Those who wish to seek this as a career must enroll in some form of training in order to become a certified shiatsu massage therapist in the state in which they reside.  In these classes, you will learn different hand movements and also the various techniques that are used to treat patients and clients.  By taking these classes, you can learn why shiatsu massage therapy helps individuals with various medical issues.

Once training is complete, it is important to take a certification test in order to be regarded as board certified.  After successful completion of this testing requirement, you can then practice shiatsu massage therapy in the state in which you reside.  You can either work at a spa, salon, or hospital, or you can even open your own business.

Most students who have completed this training choose to begin their careers by starting out in a spa or hospital situation instead of beginning their own business right away, as this affords more time to understand key concepts and to get used to being in a position of aiding other individuals.  Plus, this also helps you learn how best to operate the business, so that when and if you do decide to begin your own massage therapy clinic you will know the ins and outs of the day to day business operations.
